You guys aren’t ready for the album they’ve got cooking up!
Nothing like some unreleased Dilla beats to keep the day on the up and up. The first joint off the upcoming Yancey Boys LP. Illa J gets down over his older brother’s instrumental (Rest in Peace Dilla Dog!).
We Here is a celebration of waking up every day. Why not live out your dreams, why not try? Of the lyric ‘Let’s go crazy/ You saw Purple Rain’ Illa J explains: “It’s like Prince asking ‘Are we gonna let the elevator break us down?’ Naw, let’s go all out! One of the things I learned from my brother is that you don’t get that much time, so make the most of it. That’s why I’ve decided to dedicate my life to doing what I love: music. - Illa J

America's 1st Black President isn't too far away (September 30). Here's a new track
Well, you'd be lying if you said you saw this coming. this track is dope though
Finally got my hands on the MP3 of this track, so just thought I'd share. I CAN'T WAIT for Pooh's album to drop.
Now for those who thought Busta Rhymes has gone soft these days, allow me to prove to y'all that this track proves y'all WRONG. Busta Rhymes shows that he still "RRRRAAAAOW RRRRAAAAOW" like the dungeon dragon over the beat provided by none other than Kev Brown. Brown really went vintage with his tinkling pianos and dragging organs in his beats, which goes perfect with Busta's CLASSIC rhymes. It's like he went back to his "Whoo-Hah" crazy roots! Hopefully, he'll keep that up.
Inglewood’s El Prez continues his TGIF series (leading up to the release of upcoming digi-album, The Daily Show). What say you Prez!?
Back in the day the radio was a vessel of the community that served the needs and tastes of its listeners, which meant you weren’t hearing the same 10 songs played in NY that you would hear in LA, or Omaha, or Atlanta. Compare that to the stations of today, who are so disconnected from the communities they used to ’serve’ that you can turn on the radio in Los Angeles and think you are in the South because of the lack of homegrown artists getting played.
I’m a politician that’s all about reform, and its about time somebody speaks up again about these issues, cause it’s killing the culture. So Power 106, Hot 97, Emmis Communications and Clear Channel, this verbal Middle finger goes out to you ha! - El Prez

Make sure you check out the blog my man Food Witherspoon aka. DJ Speek Greene has set up called "The Grandphibians" . I've already got shouted out in the article on DJ Speek Greene, but there's plenty of dope artists I'm now listening to which I just discovered on this blog.
Here goes a new’ish Wale joint. The original is featured on Madden ‘09 where as this DJ Infamous (Lil Wayne’s Mr. Carter) remix was done as part of Levi’s Unbutton Me campaign starring Wale, Nikka Costa & Estelle. Shouts of elitaste, who also has the original. DOWNLOAD: Wale - Breakdown (DJ Infamous Remix)

"Straight up and down: Without Isaac Hayes, popular music and particularly Hip-Hop as we know it today would not exist. Period. So when Big Size, Milton & Zock from Cookin Soul hit me up and said they were working on a tribute to the late great Black Moses, I leaped at the chance to attach the Nah Right name to the project. Weighing in at 15 tracks, Hot Buttered Soul: Isaac Hayes Instrumental Tribute adds some Hip-Hop energy to a selection of timeless classics, and is one small way that our generation can pay tribute to a man who helped make the music we love possible."

What inspires you? Is it Life? Is it Death? Is it Happiness? Wealth? Women? Hate? Love? Interesting question… My answer is Music and the thoughts that run through my mind on a daily basis. From my Understanding, I gained Inspiration, which turned into Achievement.
For years now, college ballplayers have been hit off with buttery exclusives that haven’t graced the shelves of retailers (and deservedly so). Whether it’s Notre Dame rolling out in multicolored adidas Halfshell Americanas that perfectly matched their uniforms or a3 Superstar Ultras with a Pittsburgh Panthers logo stitched on, (Carl Krauser, holler! I know you have a few pairs around…) exclusive sneakers are just one of the many perks D1 players receive.

I spoke on this upcoming Madlib project earlier and now a track has finally surfaced, courtesy of OKP! Guilty Simpson raises hell over some very dope Madlib production. Again, this will be featured on Madlib’s WLIB AM: King of the Wigflip on BBE, dropping September 30th!

You already know what time it is! I just got done telling ‘Te that he must know exactly when I am in need of a new podcast of great music and hilarious commentary because these always seem to drop with perfect timing haha. This week, Phonte pays tribute to Isaac Hayes and Bernie Mac, explains why some women are attracted to married men, and makes his case for legalized prostitution. Indeed.
Tracklist + Download link after the jump…

The Alchemist blogs about driving up to Midstate to see P.
A steel door slid open, and Pee rolled in, unaccompanied… with the H.N.I.C. bop, maroon shirt with the state greens, and a pair of all black rebooks like just another day holding it down as usual.
He rolls up to the dickhead desk and waits for them to point him to our table.
Now one of the dickheads barks at him. Tells him to step back until he calls him to the desk. Pee steps back, and 2 seconds later he calls him up.Im thinking, ‘that man is a dick.’ But I guess I keep forgetting that its jail.
Al should blog more. P should blog less. Read the full entry here.
I can't claim I've been down with Charles Hamilton since LowKey co-signed him and pretty much exposed him on the net, but I do give him a listen here and there. Checking out Hamilton's blog today I noticed he had posted a new track and I just had to post it here because the beat is so creative. It's pretty much an ode to the internet/computers, shameless self promotion on the chorus and a word to bloggers like myself, but much respect to him for this unique track. I recommend you check this track out:

When my man Slimm sent me this remix I was skeptic because Nottz already laid a great canvas for one of my personal favorite joints from the LB crew. But after a listen I love how he slowed it down and basically flipped the whole vibe. Good shit. Get familiar with DJ Slimm as he’ll be handling the 2db West Coast mixtape as well. I assure you, his mixing skills aren’t like what you hear now. He actually does work haha.

Dan from Standard ATL shot over this joint that will appear on Greg Street’s upcoming Certified Worldwide on Interscope Records. Don Cannon remixed the Greatest Beat Ever for the occaison. I’m pretty sure at least 2 of these verses are recycled, but its worth a post regardless.
Lupe Fiasco ft. Wale & Kardinal Offishall- Dope Boys (Remix)
This will appear on Blu & Mainframe’s upcoming self titled project, as well as Shake and Meka’s soon to be released (2)Dope Mixtape: Cadillac Edition.

I’m so (2)dopeboy fresh!
It’s here! The mix does sound a bit off so I believe Kanye will be tweaking a few things, but the CDQ version has arrived. Shouts to bobo for dropping it. It’s the clean but it will do fuckas. I’ll just make a new post when the explicit arrives haha. UPDATE: That wasn’t long at all. Explicit has been added. Blueprint 3 bitches!

I’ve heard stories of a DOOM imposter performing at certain shows, and I was too busy running wild at the main stage to catch this, so i can’t really be sure if this one was fake or not. Props to illroots for this one. CHeck out part two under the cut.
